They have a couple strong writers and podcasters but Bill’s personality and taste informs nearly everything they do in a way that it didn’t seem to at Grantland.

Bill Simmons is so god damn tone-deaf and just generally obnoxious. It makes it so hard to enjoy the Ringer. Some of the NBA writers are decent and they have solid entertainment coverage, but I frequent the site less and less these days.

 

The NBA thread is 100% of my basketball coverage. 20 years from now I'm gonna be telling my kids George Hill was good and they're gonna look at me so confused.

 

Outside of the KOC/Vernon version of it, I find the Ringer NBA Show aka the talk about the Celtics, Sixers, LeBron and Giannis podcast to be pretty impressively surface level

Nah, my sons Jayson and Tatum will know only about the time Jayson Tatum dunked on Lebron.

George Hill is a pouty quitter who pouted and quit when the amazing De’Aaron Fox took his job, a pox on him

You have to look at all the context, being the number 1 overall pick he was absolutely a bust from that perspective. If he were a lottery or beyond pick you could say he had a decent enough career

 

My guy never got a fair shake.

Chris Bosh out there hurting spacing, they signed Jermaine O'Neal forcing Bargnani to play some SF, had a great stretch when O'Neal got hurt and Andrea Goatnani got some minutes at C. Raptors were absolute garbage. He was a good player in 09-10, and then Bosh left and now there was void of talent except for my guy Andrea Bigballnani who put up 20 PPG with ease, then there's a lockout, the Raptors draft ANOTHER Center to hurt Andrea personally and professionally. But what does Bargnani do? Sign overseas when everyone else was? Nah my guy hit the the GYM trying to do the best for his team. Then he gets hurt with an elbow injury, then he went to NY and died because NY is where old players go to die.

 

All I'm saying is my guy is more Bogut than Bennett.
