Yeah I think I was missing context of what stretch you were talking about due to blocks (sorry person I'm blocking)

    Post-2011 I agree

I guess if I had to be specific...

Not draft and trade Bledsoe for what amounted to be nothing.

Not trade Jeff Green for Perkins

Not sign a horrible Anthony Morrow

    Not draft Cameron Payne

Not trade Oladipo and Sabonis for George

Not trade McDermott / Kanter for Carmelo?

    Not trade Harden?

There was a huge run on bad decisions the Thunder made, let's not act like them being playoff fodder is a difficult task for someone to do.

Um the Oladipo trade netted them Paul George, whom they later traded to the Clips for a Kings fucking ransom.

and Oladipo was good for one year and there is no indication he will ever be that guy again. And Sabonis would be pretty much redundant for a team that had Steven Adams. I think both at the time and in hindsight, that was a positive deal for Presti.

Presti certainly isn’t mistake free, but I’d comfortably place him high on my list of GMs. It should also be noted that he is aided by an owner willing to spend. Most small market GMs aren’t afforded that luxury.

OKC also managed to have a very good year, they have Shai and a billion picks

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I’m excited for the hire. We needed a competent GM bad. He’s gotten good praise from around the league. Anything was better than what we’ve had going before.

thinking green for perkins was a bad trade tells me enough to not continue engaging lol

It's true! The 2025 Thunder might be good because of a trade they made five years prior despite showing absolutely no ability to draft well outside of the top 12 picks.

Jeff Green to this day could've provided them with spacing they need and instead they have...

nothing to show for it. Rock solid trade.

Idk. They had a pretty good decade and are set to have another great decade

I'm not passionate about this at all. I just don't think what the Thunder have done in the last 10 years from a GM standpoint has been all that great.

“nothing to show for it” so whats your bar, man? that they didn’t win any championships? i guess there are only

sad to hear there are only like five successful franchises of the last decade and two of them are due to one player, dang. basically fold the league it’s done.

Let's say, a prospective future outside of being a sacrificial lamb to the three/four seed for the next four years?

  16. 9 playoff trips in 10 years in the west. With one of the best records in the league over that timeframe. He’s drafted some pretty good players yfm

dude also said ‘scared money don’t make none’ we love a tribe called quest

Has anybody done less with more than the Thunder have? Thats all I'm saying really. I wouldn't trust Presti to take over a team like the Sixers and elevate them.

Lol yeah ANYONE can make the playoffs ESPECIALLY in the West, yes, it is in fact quite a difficult task.

Bledsoe took 7 years to finally realize his potential, draft and trades happen ALL THE TIME, sometimes they work out, sometimes they don't, the Nuggets drafted Donovan Mitchell.

Jeff Green is just a rotation guy so it's not like that had some huge impact

Morrow was nothing but a 3pt specialist, players like that hang around forever, someone always signs them

In regards to Payne, he was a lottery pick, lottery picks are almost always a gamble, hell outside of like 5 guys in any given NBA draft it's all a gamble, and no one taken after him is a supreme superstar

Dipo at the time of the trade had a VERY underwhelming career, and trading him for PG is a fucking no brainer lol

McDermott and Kanter are ass so it's not like that trade made them any worse

The only real gripe you can have is trading Harden, that one was pretty bad, but again, at the time, you could kind of justify it.

even if they haven’t drafted well outside of the top 12, they’ve hit absolute home runs in the draft. Most teams would trade draft history with the Thunder in a second.

  21. Very few teams draft well outside the top 12

most teams actually draft poorly inside the top 12

the NBA draft is a colossal crap shoot

the best player in the NBA was an unknown skinny 18 year old from Greece and was picked at 15

Presti is a fucking awesome GM

  22. The fact that Presti has killed it with top 12 picks proves how awesome he is - I mean shit look at the Knicks last 10 top 12 picks - a whole lotta shit

  23. lol the Sixers are the team that have done less with more

I’d venture to say that almost no teams are good at drafting in the 20’s. So that’s hardly a huge knock on Presti.

But more importantly, the job of a gm is to acquire talent however they can and it’s beyond question that Presti has been successful at acquiring talent.

That's a good point, I shouldn't put the responsibility of winning on the GM. Or even really the future. It's about getting the best possible team out there to play basketball.
