I've seen Shams report it as "Warriors will retire #35" and others report variations of that.

He very clearly says "As long as I am co-chairman, no one will wear #35." Maybe I am parsing it too much, but that seems slightly different than saying "we will be retiring his number."

This seems more like a "you won't see the #35 for a little while" thing and not an actual number retirement.

maybe cynical and unfair given it’s impossible to prove, but I’m thinking they’re retiring his number given the circumstances of the injury.

 

It adds up, it very well could be the case

 

To be fair very few players ever get the chance to win 2 championships with a team, and he will certainly go down as one of the greats. This seems like a no brainer move when you combine that with the injury. Wouldn’t be surprised if eventually most of the warriors dynasty starters get the same treatment.

Just popping in to say I’m bummed to see a bunch of Blazers I’ve come to love leave today, but I’m excited to see Robin Lopez hit Milwaukee with Brook

 

Yeah I think this is totally fair. I just think the way the organization and fans are showing appreciation towards him feels like it would be a little different had he been healthy and left to form a different contender. I think through actions like the infamous Bob Meyers parade joke, Draymond blowups, and the way the fans adore their own guys over him shows they didn’t appreciate what they had. The injury made them come to terms with that a lot sooner than they would have

 

Can the Wolves at least get JaMychal Green or something
