out of curiosity, why do you think this?

if a league with just the absolute worst planning and management thinkable (looking at you MLB) can get away with it, i think the NBA can. yes baseball had it's share of outbreaks and postponements (and the NBA will too) but my guess now is that 80%+ of the schedule gets played without issue.

I just truly don't know what the NBA is thinking here (money obviously), but after seeing what a complete shitshow this NFL season has become they're just going to proceed as normal, schedule wise? There's far less players on a NBA team so one person tests positive puts potentially a whole team on the Covid list. They already get pissed at teams who sit their star players for nationally televised games, they're just asking for it when one of them has to miss games being on the Covid list

my assumption is that, like i said earlier, they're fully expecting issues, which is why nothing from like march 4th-may 20th is set in stone yet.

i don't think a regional bubble would have worked because there would probably be a competitive imbalance in a bunch of places - would the bucks and heat love it if the celtics 76ers and nets got to play the knicks 20 times a piece? lol

i think they're viewing it as a 'we have to be all in and prepared for the worst' or just not be in at all, and there was probably a less than 0% chance that there would be NO season.

something that hasn’t been talked about enough is roster sizes. If one player/coach gets it, quarantines alone could affect like, a third of the roster. You can get away with keeping 5-10 people away on a baseball or football team but in the NBA with rosters at 12-14 guys, you may not be able to field a team for two weeks.

Also MLB can, and did, implement double headers to make up for lost games. Can’t do that in the NBA. Also, travel was limited to once or twice a week in MLB and they played in regions. NBA could be traveling up to 4x per week. Obviously, the more you travel, the higher the risk.

NFL has been lucky that they can flip games easily due to everyone just playing once a week and the time off in between games allows for more thorough contact tracing, testing, examining symptoms, etc.

  10. piece of shit human being Tiki Barber thinks posterizing dunks are ~boring~

  11. Great answer. hope him (and Wall) are as healthy as everyone is saying

  12. to be fair if it was a regional bubble the Bucks would play a ton of shitty teams haha - Cavs Bulls Pistons and Pacers repeatedly lol

  13. Someone should tell Tiki that leaving his family and pregnant wife for a young intern isn’t pleasing to the eye either.

  14. exactly - fuck him

  15. That Tiki take is actually so bad. Even if that’s all someone does - that’s a key part of basketball that people enjoy.

You think I enjoy watching Dennis Smith Jr or Derrick Jones all the time? Fuck no lmao but they got some JAMS

Big nerd take from Tiki, dudes who go hard to the rim are by far the most fun players in the league to watch, jump shooting is for squares

Late to the party but I believe lone Wiz fan here: It sucks, doesn’t make sense but kind of does, and now I’m excited to watch and see who else they add. I’ll really miss Wall and will be rooting for him and Houston.
