Utah Denver Blazers aren’t going to go away, Clips and Lakers may rest, but
Rockets couldn’t get there last year, they’re worse imo, and the West got better.

I don’t see it.

This trade doesn’t make Houston worse imo but the west got much much much much better during this off-season

Losers: The Rest of the West
Uggetti: There was some hope that Westbrook would end up in Miami. Russ and Jimmy Butler on the Heat would have given the league another NBA Jam duo and the East another pseudo-contender. And while there’s still a chance that one max-salaried point guard in this trade ends up in Miami, the pairing of Westbrook and Harden will make the West, already full of contenders, that much harder. After two weeks of free agency, there are now seven teams who will go into next season thinking they can get to the Finals (Rockets, Lakers, Clippers, Jazz, Trail Blazers, Nuggets, and Warriors) and about twice as many teams who think they can make it to the playoffs. It will be a bloodbath, especially because the stakes are already colossal for several of the contenders. The Lakers, Clippers, and now Rockets have all mortgaged their futures. The Jazz will pay Bojan Bogdanovic over $70 million, and the Warriors sent away two of their core veterans in order to usher in a new era with … D’Angelo Russell. I mean, the Blazers talked themselves into Hassan Whiteside for crying out loud.

 

Feel like it’s silly to be so adamant about where teams will place next April and who’s better than who when there’s so much radical change. There are so many variables and so many new players that may or may not work well nobody has no fucking idea how any of this will pan out.

And I love it.

 

I can say with authority: zero Blazer fans are worried about Westbrook in the playoffs.

 

the only team that concerns me is LAC

none of the Jazz, Denver, Portland etc are scary

 

I definitely think it's possible that next year in the West an 8 seed could reasonably beat a 1 seed.

 

Kawhi, George, Beverley is going to be pure hell
