That’s an interesting way of framing dumping all of your draft picks for a rental but sure that’s exactly what I said

 

I forgot the bucks traded pick 30 and divencenzo for an all star that’s what happened exactly

 

a) who is saying jrue is a rental lol? there is nothing to indicate that, even if his deal has two years left

b) you specifically said “i’m irrationally high on donte” and “i’m irrationally low on jrue” lol

c) they lost two point guards who are older and worse for a combo guard all star who is better

d) they lost three bench dudes, one who is almost 40 and two who have barely played to this point in their career, for a knockdown 3 and D dude

e) it is highly highly highly unlikely those picks are better than the 24-30 range, and are pretty low value, even without protections

so. yeah. get your jokes off bc you aren’t getting any good arguments off lol

Besides there’s nothing indicating that Jrue wouldn’t decline his option next year, either. at which point he’d pretty much have the Bucks over a barrel for a new contract

getting worked up about end of the first round draft picks is pretty irrational which is what everyone who is tripping over themselves to hate the bucks is doing lol

 

yeah, I feel like it could go in so many ways. Basically talked myself into them drafting melo ball and we lose every game 130 to 150 average.

But I would hope they would kick the tires on packaging that #1 pick with culver and/or okogie for an established veteran (Vic?), or even trading back with Charlotte like you said seems plausible too.

I was just surprised at no protections... so much so I had to go back and look at the Westbrook trade last year to see if it was similar in terms of the picks.. Morey put top 4 protection on those atleast.

If that move ends up getting the Bucks a championship they wont give a shit nor should they, but if that team implodes and doesn't recover quickly in the following years, hoo boy..

These draft picks/swaps in 2025-2027 may not be end of the round picks. I think that’s where a lot of people are hesitant to say this is a good trade. For a franchise who doesn’t have a lot of sustained success it’s not crazy to think those picks could be in the 10-15 range if this team fails and ownership gives up on them.

Yeah nah in that lineup he'll be great, won't haver too much pressure on him to play great D, can spot up and get wide open shots and make like half of them and you can put the ball in his hands and let him playmake. This is going to be difficult for me to watch emotionally smh

donte can make some crazy plays on defense bc his athleticism but, yeah, he has the defense of a second year dude haha. it comes and goes. definitely potential to be a solid defender though

 

drew will do it when he misses his first 3 in game 1 on december 22nd

 

i didn’t even shit on the bledsoe trade when it became clear that dude was never gonna score in the playoffs and cost us multiple series. you’ll be waiting a while for me to shit on the jrue trade lol, get comfortable

 

Regardless of the potential downfalls of the trade, I do like the Bucks lineup a lot more now and hope they do well. If NJ somehow pulls off the Harden trade the east is going to be a lot of fun with MIL/BOS/MIA/NETS all stacked in their own ways.
