NBC announcing team is garbage

I've been borrowing my Norwegian girlfriend's Eurosport login for their online player, so I've been watching that(even though I don't know the language yet, haha). Amazing performance by Mowinckel - Norwegians have just been crushing it this Olympics

 

it's not even that, it's like a behind the scenes person talking over the actual tv announcers...almost like the person who feeds them the stats? it's still happening lol

 

no really it's still happening. jonny weir will be talking and then a random woman's voice will break in loudly over his. do i have some odd setting turned on my television or cable box??? hahaha

 

Ahhh shit, USA hockey loses to Czech Republic in shootout

 

Bigger story, USA has kinda been suckin' these Olympics

 

Shuster is blowing it in this curling match

 

It's definitely been lackluster for sure but I'm not sure if it's because US isn't good or others are just way better.

Norway has been straight up dominating

 

Yeah.. I just kinda think the USA are not that good in winter sports

dang that women's cross country team sprint race was the best

 

Cross country is like a religion in Norway; at my girlfriend's work over there everybody just stops what they're doing and watches the races in their lounge area, haha

 

update: girlfriend discovered there actually was some odd setting turned on, i guess just for live events? loool

 

USA women currently 2-1 down to Canada in gold medal hockey game, 2 minutes left in 2nd period

Update: has led his team to our first gold medal match ever.

 

He’s been killing it recently. Terrible start but has been clutch since.

 

I see the gold medal match going one of two ways: he's going to continue this tear and have a killer redemption story, or he's going to Shuster so hard that it will be a uncompetitive match. But either way, they're coming home with the USA's best curling medal ever so that's cool

 

What time will the curling final actually be on tv. I can't find it to record

I've found Kaori Sakamoto's skating very moving the couple times I've caught her at these games. Probably doesn't hurt that "La Noyee" is wonderful.

 

The countries that are routinely and/or historically (some just have bad years sometimes) successful at the Olympics usually spend a lot of money on youth training so on, as well as programs where professional athletes that can't make real money with their sport get to work for the government (for example the police), but get paid time off to train and compete. I know this because I lived in three of them.
