This is so embarrassing. The only Flyer to show any heart last night was Nolan Patrick and he's demoted to the third line (was on the top line yesterday) I can't stand this fucking numbskull coach. edit: and he's scratching Travis Sanheim in favor of a third pairing of Radko Gudas and Brandon Manning. LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
I didn't see a problem with either of those hits. Neither of them raised their elbows to try to make contact with head. Just finishing checks. If Hartman gets a suspension and Kucherov doesn't then that is some serious shit. I watched pretty much parts of all the games last night and again, more great playoff hockey. People were writing the Avs off too quickly. I wouldn't pick them to win the series but they finished strong and won a hell of a must win game against the Blues to get in. Mac has been on fire and carried the team into the playoffs. Gonna need him to take over a game if they want to get the series back to Colorado though.
I'm under the impression that most of the refs in the league were former grinders (if they were players) and so their tendency is to let shit fly in the hockey because they love and used to play the "gritty" game. I'm sure a simple fact check with prove this wrong, but you know....
I often wonder what the game would look like if the league decided that any hit that hit the head or looked like it hit the head was penalized/fined/suspended. Would guys give up open ice hitting or just ride it out?
This is all kinds of stupid. Kucherov can't walk if this is the example the league sets. I fucking hate this league.
Truth be told, Hartman was more bad than good last night anyways, and Tolvanen likely gets a shot tomorrow night. I’m just mad about the principle of the suspension though.
That is not ideal EDIT: actually I just remembered they went 9-2-2 without him last month so I’m not panicking
