Eh, Coburn's fights maybe 1-2 times a year and he gave him no choice by skating in front of the penalty box. He did the right thing standing up for a teammate but Coburn wasn't a threat to him at all. He's not going to learn his lesson even if he gets suspended. He's played the same way since junior and is encouraged by all of his coaches to make big hits and injure players. The league rarely suspends anyone for interference if there's no direct contact to the head so he knows he can get away with it too.
I hear you on the threat thing. I just can't say "he never fights". Hardly fights is more like it haha. Oh I completely knew he wasn't going to get suspended. I am surprised that refs let that fly so much though (probably shouldn't be)...but a 2 minute PP would at least make it seem like the give a shit. This is my bad I thought Wilson wasn't penalized...
I just saw the Reeves crosscheck and when I see plays like that lead to a goal I get a special kind of pissed. You wouldn't know based on watching that crosschecking was illegal most playoff games.
Jackets would have taken care of the Caps if Wilson didn't take out Wennberg and no one will convince me otherwise.
Perspective | ‘A little bit bittersweet’: Former Capital Nate Schmidt thriving in Vegas vegas originally wanted wilson and grubauer but instead they got schmidt
We all know Wilson is a piece of shit. The refs have made it clear that they consider what he does to be "physical play". Most can see that he rides the edge of dirty and chippy and is a habitual line stepper. He knows they'll do nothing and he says about as much. I'm just mad because I would be okay with the Caps winning because Ovie and Backy deserve a cup as much as anyone, but the thought of Wilson winning a cup makes me sick. I am Pens fan, so I can also admit my bias.
