Traded up, sure. But also filled their biggest need with the best player at the position after another player at the same position was already taken.
I can live with Bmore in the B+, but that trade up at the end gives them a solid A for me. I’m excited to see how Moore does in Carolina too. That offense should be something else
Listening to Cleveland talk radio is funny today. So many upset people. I understand why people may not have wanted Mayfield, but while there were several good prospects at QB, none of them were Manning or Luck level coming out. You had to choose which aspect that is less than ideal that you could live with. I like Darnold, but the turnovers and lack of raising USC's level of play last year are legit knocks. Rosen, you can look at concussions and other injuries as a legit concern. To a much smaller degree, his attitude as it pertains to maybe smaller market Midwest teams. Josh Allen, you can look at no real standout games in college when he played power 5 competition, lack of accuracy, and his maturity/bad politics. Lamar Jackson has a lot of upside but there is a lot of work needed to get him where you want him to be. Mayfield, definitely lacks the size and is not a crazy athletic athlete. You can also harp on the arrest or post-game antics if you'd like. However, he is accurate, doesn't turn it over, efficient in the red zone, had the fewest tipped passes in d-1 qb's, had pro concepts in his spread offense, a good leader that teammates seem to really like playing for, walked on twice and started twice, sat out a full year at OU due to transfer rules, and by all accounts processes the game quickly. I think there is a lot to like in totality and he seems like someone who is hungry as well.
Don’t the Seahawks always get terrible draft grades and it ends up working out way better than expected?
Lol fair. Fair. That’s why they don’t pick in the first round lol. I actually have decent expectations for Penny. Wilson is used to not having people protect him. Who cares if penny cant block lol
OK I am going to make round 2 and 3 predictions for MIA: 42nd overall- Dallas Goedert 73rd overall- Shaquem Griffin
Penny will be good, it's more just bad team building strategy to take him where they did, imo, than anything.
@PeacefulOrca - Going back to this morning about Wynn possibly playing tackle. Here are some measurables compared to Matt Light.
In theory, barring a trade Mason Rudolph or Lueletta are available at 43. I'm fine Rudolph at 43. Fine with Lueletta at the end of the 2nd.
i thought rudolph had a really disappointing final season. obviously didn’t see a ton of lueletta. falk did a ton with very little and seems to have a NFL skillset, though admittedly i only really care about college football
