I'm really not all that familiar with this year's draft class, anybody I should be keeping my eye out or take a look at for the Eagles ?
Hope Saquon and Gesicki land in good spots. He said sexist/offensive shit in another thread and then got called out on it... and deleted them since.
I think so, but I'm biased in his favor. It'll be interesting to see him at the next level if he gets shots in the nickel. Dude LOVES to hand check non-stop, which I think will draw more flags at the next level. Who knows. I know the knock on him is his play against the run but I think he can play a bit bigger than his size/he likes to get physical in coverage.
2018 Sleeper Squad QB: Chase Litton – Marshall RB: Nyheim Hines – NC State WR: Jaleel Scott – New Mexico State TE: Chris Herndon – Miami (FL) OL: Desmond Harrison – West Georgia DE: Hercules Mata’afa – Washington State DT: Deadrin Senat – South Florida LB: Jack Cichy – Wisconsin LB: Joel Lanning – Iowa State DB: Kam Kelly – San Diego State DB: Holton Hill – Texas Mississippi State's Jordan Thomas is another player I wanted to list, but he's just a terrible football player right now.
I like him as a third down back that has a lot of scheme versatility in the passing game. All of the TE projections out there are just dumb to me. The dude is 5'11. He's not a tight end in NFL. I don't really see him as a true fullback either, because he's not much a blocker. He'd be really annoying on a team like New England.
Yeah his size is what concerns me but he always finds a way to make an impact. New England is definitely a good fit. I could see him doing well in Kansas City, New Orleans, or San Fran as well.
Yeeeeeee buddy. Where do you have Micah Kiser? Is it crazy for me to want the Jags to go on a LB run and take Kiser/Cichy/Griffin?
Kiser was a top five linebacker for me for a while, but he's just very limited as an athlete. He's just kind of slow and stiff, but that dude is a thumper in the run game. He could make a name for himself in a Bart Scott-like 3-4 ILB role where he'd take on blocks consistently. As a mid-rounder, there's a lot of value in a player like Kiser. He's super productive and he has the ability to play a very specific role for you. They'd potentially have a ton of depth in one spot, but it would hurt them in other spots down the road.
Tbh that's the spot they're hurting the most rn. They could re-sign Colvin or draft a corner but we've got pretty much no linebacker depth.
I think they could potentially be thin at receiver too, right?. It'll be interesting to see what happens with that corps this offseason.
Oh yeah definitely. The OL needs work too. But they can address that internally and during free agency. Not a lot of help available at linebacker comparatively.
I think Victor might be toast. He'll have to have an absolutely stellar combine to even be considered in the mid-rounds. He just became slow-footed after the injury. I haven't paid too much attention to the off the field stuff, but I'm big on just watching a prospect play because I don't know the circumstances behind it all. He just isn't the same player after the broken leg. Bierria can play, but how much did Vea and Gaines help him by keeping him clean from blockers? From everything I see, he's really smart but he didn't make too many plays in the backfield and his size is concerning.
Agreed on Victor. His senior campaign was very strange. He clearly didn't look right from that broken leg and he had most of his snaps usurped by Ben Burr-Kirven (who I hate) and then obviously the late season DUI. I think he will get a shot somewhere because he's shown that he can be a very good and instinctive player but yeah, since the leg break....he hasn't shown it so should be interesting to track him. Bierria's main concern with me is size as well. I think Vea/Gaines surely helped but one of the major issues with that defense is they've been majorly deficient at recruiting edge rushers and I think as much as the interior helped him, the lack of outside pass rush (especially against good teams) hurt him the same.
