As the draft is almost here, heres why drafting a RB is dumb: Spending a top-20 pick on a RB is one of the worst decisions a team can make My favorite fun fact is that no position has a higher bust rate: The numbers show us the following outline for finding consistent starters: 1st Round - OL (83%) LB (70%) TE (67%) DB (64%) QB (63%) WR (58%) RB (58%) DL (58%)
Realistically the main issue with Fournette is he had too much wear and tear from college / HS already. And that actually could be a problem. I don't confidently see him lasting all the way to age 30 while keeping his juice and staying healthy enough. Especially because his size probably makes running hard on his joints. But 23-28 we got golden years baby
I'm still fine with the McCaffrey pick. Shula did not know how to use him but he still made a difference. His big TD against the Saints in the playoffs showed how fast that dude is.
I think it bases on what pick you think the player is, so if you think like Josh Allen is being picked at 5 but not by Denver you'd still put him at 5
Lol same I have the Colts taking Baker Mayfield because I already changed my mind and decided they’re gonna be the ones to trade down
I would normally say trading down from 4 would be a good move but they already have so many picks. 1, 4, 33, 35 is plenty to build from. I guess 1, 12, 22, 33, 35, 53 is nice but that's soooo many rookies and only 2 rounds in lol
I only think that because they've met with a lot of prospects poised to go in the mid-1st but have not met with Bradley Chubb or Saquon Barkley.
McCaffrey was a fine pick because he's not just a RB but a legit pass catcher. Pass catchers, regardless of position, are very valuable. Runners aren't though. Which is why, while I wouldn't make the pick, I'm fine with Saquon going top 20 with his skills in the passing game. Wouldn't go top 5 though.
Nick Chubb and Rashaad Penny were brought in for official visits. And they met with Johnson and Michel at the combine. And we all know Hurney loves the idea of two RBs. So I won't be surprised if that's what we do in round 2.
