Oh Josh Allen is 100 percent not ready to start. Rosen is the only one who I'd even consider starting day one. But that's not a real criticism either. Most QBs aren't ready to start coming out.
Darnold did some good things at USC but as a (the?) resident Pac-12 homer here and watching a lot of USC football, I'd be terrified if Sam Darnold went to my squad. He scares the shit out of me with his up and down inconsistent play.
Cleveland may be a good spot though. Tyrod being there takes off a lot of pressure to start him right away. He will be able to slowly work his way into the starting role. And if they’re able to snag Barkley at #4 he’d have a very solid team around him.
Yeah, Darnold will have a better line, better weapons, and will be given time to sit and learn. I dig it. Minus the unshakable feeling that he's the next Andy Dalton.
Browns should sign one more QB. Oldest guy they can find. McCown would have been perfect. And just let him be a second QB coach for both the Rookie they draft AND Tyrod.
lol I said would have. Derek Anderson or Kellen Clemons would be good though. Guys who have been all around the league.
Pittsburgh has been showing a lot of interest in Mason Rudolph. I haven’t heard much about him and haven’t done any research. Thoughts?
He's up and down, but, outside of JuJu in 2016, he hasn't had many weapons and the line has been pretty terrible. I'm not saying some of the errors weren't his own, but I think he'd be coming into a much better situation with a team like the Browns or Giants. Being Andy Dalton would make Darnold the best QB for the team since they've come back.
Yes but Andy Dalton is not worth taking first overall. I have no actual reason to think that. It's just a stupid gut feeling that I don't think the tape actually reflects. Very excited for the Browns, assuming they're taking Darnold.
There is no doubt. USC's roster is LOADED with *4 and 5* talent everywhere but they are among the worst in developing this talent once they get in on campus so assuming Darnold goes somewhere who won't rush him and will allow him to properly develop, I think there is a ton of untapped potential. It's laughably bad at how awful USC is at this under Helton.
At this point just help the passing game. Get a right tackle or a receiving weapon. Slot corner is also something we need to address. We need at least one solid WR and one sleeper late round WR... and if Gesicki falls to us in round 1 or Goedert in round 2, i don't give fuck all about ASJ lets do that too I bet the Jags draft a QB instead, and leave both them AND Bortles out to dry with no one to throw to
Oh I think their board is OT and WR in the first. If Lamar Jackson falls then that's another story but I think they'll be watching the tackles go and either take Orlando Brown or receiver. Moncrief is on a one year deal. Cole is an unknown. Lee is not a WR1 and despite being overpayed, was not paid or used like one. I imagine we've got at least two rookies plus the UDFAs. We will be drafting a QB as well. I just hope it's not until the sixth round. Receiver, tackle, corner, linebacker; four things we need to address first - and hopefully in that order.
Lots of buzz the Eagles are doing homework on WRs/TEs at #32. Adding a legit speed thread could be incredible for this offense. I also like Gesicki a lot but we already have one elite TE who doesn't block for shit, not sure I want another.
He'd be fine too. Bottom line is they just paid Alshon and have to pay Agholor next year so they need to find a #2 WR (Nelson makes his money in the slot) that will be cheap for 4 years. Nelly is quick but Alshon/Ertz/Hollins aren't exactly burners so they just need to add a big time speed element to that offense and they're set to compete for the next 3-4 years.
