Gotta give Caldwell credit, I didn't think there was a way to have an A draft and somehow make me furious with a sixth round pick but he's done it. Well played, Dave.
Lackluster end to an otherwise phenomenal draft. Greg Holland, Skai Moore, and Tegray Scales should've been the last three picks. Hopefully they give at least one of them a call after the draft. Dope to see Justin Jackson get drafted. Trey Quinn is Mr. Irrelevant haha.
Why were so many into the idea of St. Brown (I understand it’s later rounds but still)? I love the size and potential, but his production was pretty underwhelming for what you’d expect. One of the things I like in receivers is attacking/fighting for the ball. Not every throw is going to be in the ideal catching radius and so receivers need to help their QB out at times, especially when pressure is involved. St. Brown did not do that enough at ND. There was not much fighting for the ball and establishing his presence. Wimbush certainly did not throw enough good passes last year (especially towards the end of the season), but St. Brown and the whole receiver unit did not help Brandon out enough either. St. Brown should have went back to school, but I hope he lands with a staff that can really motivate him to work harder and maximize what he can become.
