  1. I’m old enough to remember when Boston fans used to get really mad at teams that spent money on players. I hear way less of that these days.

Then we won something and we’re like “oh shit! THAT’S WHY THEY DO THAT!?!?”

They were looking for someone to replace didi, he's supposedly gonna be out a long while and then I believe he's an FA so they could've probably moved him between the 2 or dh. Irrelevant now obviously.

If the sox win 5 more titles in the next 10yrs with high salary what ridiculous nickname would people even give them?

  11. Only way that could be worse would be if the Red Sox and Cubs alternated WS titles for the next decade

Yeah I could give a shit about John Henry's money. In fact I hope he spends as much as possible on the Red Sox. Maybe that means less for Liverpool heh

I would give way more of a shit if they let eovoldi go and had to find a new starter via trade. Spend all the cash you want but leave what little prospects we have alone.

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

Yankees are sitting at 164 right now, if the Red Sox are gonna blow past 250 Cashman really has no excuse to NOT sign Machado or Harper lol

Haha well Dombrowski is not exactly the guy for this mindset but I agree. They definitely hired Dombrowski at the right time - he's the guy you want presiding over your contending team, keeping it going for as long as possible, but as soon as you go into rebuilding/selling/prospect hoarding mode he becomes a liability

He was a really fun player on some really bad Cubs teams. RIP.

Oh def. my point was more “he dombrowski’d” hard and it worked. But it’s not sustainable so let’s use the cash to keep the window open without robbing from the future. Which is exactly what signing Eovoldi does.

  25. Based on this morning's presser, Goldschmidt seems like the most boring personality of all time: all-business, no fanfare, few smiles, etc. I don't care at all what he's like personality-wise so long as his OPS is above .900 again this year and he hits a half-dozen or more dingers at Wrigley, we've got other guys on our team with personality that don't hit as well as he does. But he should be a perfect fit for our boring bland midwestern fanbase haha
