spending this morning thinking about how Judge and Bregman both talked major shit and then got absolutely embarrassed, how cool is that. imagine how eovaldi felt striking out bregman on that 102 fastball

I don’t remember Judge making any headlines with his mouth.

 

If any Red Sox took Judge playing a song as "major shit" than woooow they're sensitive lol

 

i mean okay we can argue about whether it was major or minor shit but it was a taunt that backfired which is very funny

 

Now that you mention it I do remember Severino and C.C. saying they would have had good stuff if it wasn't for Judge playing a song

Lol I don't believe in bulletin board material. Better team won

 

i mean i wasn't even making the point that it made the red sox play better or the yankees or astros play worse. i was just saying it was cool and funny that it backfired.

with that said, the idea that wanting to get one over on a guy you don't like or who taunted you has never motivated a player to play better or more focused or harder is insane to me. you will never be able to convince me that Price and Eovaldi weren't feeling extra emotions during and after that Bregman at bat. and emotions obviously play a part in quality of play, thats the whole idea of team chemistry. don't buy it

 

Maybe that applies for a pitcher facing Bregman in that situation idk. I didn't see anybody screaming at Judge lol. I don't think anything Bregman did affected how they pitched to him. Just being more hyped for the result. A baseball offense can't come out and dunk on somebody. If Severino had his best stuff and/or wasn't supposedly tipping pitches it wouldn't make one iota of difference how fired up the Red Sox got over a song.

 

I mean maybe but either way I bet he doesn't do that next time they meet in the playoffs

 

Probably not but whatever. It's another interesting note in what at least feels like a rivalry again for me (despite how lopsided so many individual games were)

We share some common ground in not having to hear it from Bregman this offseason though lol

 

Even cooler is thinking about how a team went out of their way to trade for a pitcher who was charged with domestic assault, only for him to get shelled in the playoffs, costing them one of the four games they lost in a row after being caught cheating

rooting for the brewers on small-market principle but i think i want the dodgers

 

ok the red sox didn't get shit talked but they are undefeated after being trolled by the other team. when someone tries to be mean to one of our nice big boys they end up losing

 

i have so little interest in the brewers. I like Yelich and Cain but that’s it and having gone to college in Wisconsin has soured me on the Brewers

And I like Kershaw/Puig way too much

 

I'd be rooting for the Dodgers but I don't want Machado to win anything

I certainly wanted them to beat Houston last year

 

Root for the Brewers so that for the first time in my life I can watch my favorite team in the World Series with my old man

 

Brewers were my only option once both LCS started lol
