Late on the discourse here due to my personal laptop shitting the bed this week. 01) THE 1975 - A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships A more batshit crazy album, The 1975 loves to be a menace both in the press and in their music with strong results 02) PANIC! AT THE DISCO - Pray For The Wicked A continuation of the Death Of A Bachelor era with everything bigger and better 03) ARCTIC MONKEYS - Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino A strange pivot from one of UK's best bands that will likely inspire a ton of "yo, this album is under-rated" think pieces in the future 04) THE STRUTS - Young & Dangerous Glammy, hooky and fun riff-rock from the UK 05) CHVRCHES - Love Is Dead The discourse around this album was strange and it's a logical continuation of Chrvches's sound and, while it IS perhaps poppier, it still fits right along with their catalog 06) BEACH HOUSE - 7 Beach House sounding like Beach House is never a problem 07) BIG RED MACHINE - Big Red Machine A cool collaboration between Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner with a lot of excellent guest vocals and somber recordings 08) JUNGLE - For Ever Groove-heavy soul that was a late discovery for me 09) FALL OUT BOY - Mania This will be anotherg darkhorse in their catalog but I enjoy how fully they leaned into the absurdity of the project 10) LO MOON - Lo Moon A ton of buzz for one song and an ill-advised marketing campaign to attempt to make them mysterious- but this album is a great collection of dreamy indie pop 11) SOFI TUKKER - Treehouse After a slew of singles, Sofi Tukker unleashed their hyper-charged after hours dance party 12) THE INTERRUPTERS - Fight The Good Fight There was no incentive to form a band like this in the late 10's yet this album slaps 13) FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE - High As Hope Reeling in some of grandosity of her previous releases, this is Flo's most personal record to date 14) TWENTY ONE PILOTS - Trench A darker and more complicated follow-up to a blockbuster album, Trench will likely be another "under-rated" album amongst the fan base in 10 years 15) AWOLNATION - Here Come The Runts I've been a big fan of all of Aaron Bruno's projects and this is another solid entry to the Awolnation canon 16) METRIC - Art Of Doubt Metric has quietly put together a killer discography over the last 12 years and this might be my favorite of theirse 17) JACK WHITE - Boarding House Reach A musical purist finally adapts an "anything goes" mentality and makes his most insane and bonkers record to date 18) MUSE - Simulation Theory Abandoning the riff-heavy skittish approach on Drones, Muse lighten up slightly and embrace synth-pop 19) ST. LUCIA - Hyperion One of the many under-rated bands who will be forever playing the 4pm slot on the side stage of festivals, more dance-heavy indie pop 20) BISHOP BRIGGS - Church Of Scars After a 2 year build up, Bishop Briggs relesaed her dramatic and soul-inspired debut 21) RAINBOW KITTEN SURPRISE - How To: Friend, Love, Freefall This band is so tough to describe, almost like Modest Mouse with a hip-hop mindset but it works 22) PALE WAVES - My Mind Makes Noises Proteges of The 1975 release their full length and while some complained it ran a little long, I can't find a bad song in it 23) THE ACES - When My Heart Felt Volcanic Haim didn't release an album in 2018 so this was a nice substitute 24) SANTIGOLD - I Don't Want: The Gold Fire Sessions More former A&R people should start writing their own songs as Santigold continues to prove herself as an accomplished songwriter and producer 25) DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE - Thank You For Today Breezy and light is not usually an adjective people use to describe Death Cab but I feel like it applies here 26) TASH SULTANA - Flow State Phenomenal trippy guitar playing and great songs by this Australian newbie 27) RUFUS DU SOL - Solace More from the land down under, this group is constantly slotted into the EDM category but I feel like they explore a wider variety atmospheres than the usual "wub-wub" found at festivals 28) SCARS ON BROADWAY - Dictator Since we'll likely never get another System Of A Down record this was still a decent consolation prize 29) COURTNEY BARNETT - Tell Me How You Really Feel More ugly and less friendly than her debut but still showcasing her sharp ear for clever and addictive songs 30) GRETA VAN FLEET - Anthem Of The Peaceful Army Shamelessly retro and unabashed in their Zep rip-off but I still think it works

We have a tie. I'll leave the thread open til the morning in case any more votes come in. If not, we'll have a runoff where you're just voting between the two.
Kacey Musgraves’ Golden Hour and Foxing’s Nearer My God both have 25. So for today, we will leave voting open but only choosing one of these albums. Tomorrow morning i’ll tabulate whatever votes we get and that’ll be the winner.
I'll change my vote to a number 1 for Kacey if that will get her a win, lol. My top 2 from this year has always been a coin toss anyway.
