I enjoyed Support The Girls for what it was but yeah I do feel like its getting way too much praise. I similarly feel like Eighth Grade and The Favourite are getting under hyped tbh

 

Also Atlanta was the best thing on tv this year by such a wide ass margin, like nothing else even comes close for me

I need to find one more film for my worst of the year list or else something mediocre has to go on. As far as best of the year, nothing has really been amazing so far other than Zama.

 

Podcasts:

I have been on a podcast kick so really looking forward to seeing others lists. I have done my favorites and then a list of ones that have had a handful of episodes but have potential.

Favorite Podcasts:

• The Pete & Sebastian Show (Comedians Pete Correale and Ssebastian Maniscalco)
• How I Built This With Guy Raz
• Tell Em' Steve Dave - I have overall enjoyed the patreon stuff.
  
• The Osbournes Podcast
• Darknet Diaries
• The Dumbbells

New podcasts i think have potential:

• Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Lancaster - The two hosts are comedians. They set up a fictional restaurant where the guest can choose anything they want for a drink, starter, main and deserts.
• This Might Get Weird - The two hosts are Grace Hilbig and Mamrie Heart. You may know them from youtube. I hadnt really watched/heard them before this, but my GF suggested it and their banter is really funny.
• Ask Mr Wonderful - Kevin O'leary from shark tanks podcast. Usually has someone from the tanks as a guest or someone from companies he has invested in or worked with.

Films:

I had an unlimited cinema card membership with Cineworld in the UK. I managed to see 55 films at the cinema. Felt like a weaker year at the cinema than 2017 though. Stand out films for me / ones that i really enjoyed:

• Tag - I know this one is perhaps a bit out there, but i really enjoyed it.

• Lady Bird
• The Darkest Hour

Books:

• How To American - Jimmy Yang (from Silicon Valley) - Autobiography
• Stay Hungry - Sebastian Maniscalco (Comedian) - Autobiography
• This Is Going To Hurt - Adam Kay - Autobiography. This is one of the best sellers in the UK, and deservingly so. An account of a junior doctor in the NHS. It is hilarious whilst also highlighting the struggles he faced. I would highly recommend this.
• Lennox Series - Craig Russell - Fiction - Following a 'shady' Canadian investigator set in 1950's Scotland.

 

Holmes and Watson

 

Have you seen Mute? That was my least favourite of the year.

 

It isn't as fun to beat up on those kind of movies. I am looking for something like The King's Speech or The Revenant or Three Billboards.

 

He started with so much promise. What a nosedive.

 

I get it but Holmes and Watsom is far worse than you can even imagine.

I didn't think The Mule was terrible but it might fit the criteria you're looking for.

 

Green Book maybe

 

I just started downloading it. I am out of town and the wifi is slower than the old DSL days. I got it from Indiewire's best of list, but there are always some rough ones on there as well.
