Los Angeles Chargers are selecting Joseph Noteboom, OT, TCU He's still there and I want to be realistic and I see that the Chargers have met with a lot of mid-late round tackle prospects. Noteboom isn't one of them but he's a Noteable talent, despite his boom or bust status.
wait am I up? my bad fellas. Give me just a little bit to get to the office and to a computer and I'll get a pick in.
With the 130th pick, the Philadelphia Eagles (World Champions) select Nyheim Hines | RB | NC State. Eagles LOVE the RBBC ideology and look to continue that here. They have Jay Ajayi locked up for one more year and it's unlikely they resign him after 2018-19. Corey Clement is here for a while on the cheap. Wendell Smallwood sucks and is going to get cut and Donnell Pumphrey Jr. might as well if he doesn't have a stellar camp and so the Eagles go RB here (which they may do in the 1st). Hines is a speedster (4.38 40) and is best suited for a team where he doesn't have to be a primary ball carrier. That's Philadelphia and he'll slide right in and be a contributor right away.
With the 132nd pick, the Philadelphia Eagles (World Champions) select D.J. Reed | CB | Kansas State It's weird for me to sit here and be able to say not only 1) The Eagles won the Super Bowl and 2) They simply don't have a ton of pressing needs. Their roster sits in a really good position as a whole. However, one glaring need that I don't think the Eagles expected to have this year is at slot corner. They tried to resign Patrick Robinson but ended up losing him back to New Orleans during free agency. None of the cornerbacks on their roster are well suited to play the slot position. Sidney Jones and Ronald Darby COULD probably do it but they are both suited best as outside corners. Jalen Mills and Rasul Douglas are too big/slow/physical to be inside guys. They need to address the slot position and do so here. Reed has the build and stature of a prototypical slot corner (5'9" 188) but is not afraid of contact and plenty of athleticism to get the job done inside. He's a great fit for what the Eagles need and allows them more flexibility on the outside and not having to force someone inside who really isn't fit for it.
Why not? Packers select Jamil Demby, OL, Maine. They're still waiting on Jahri Evans, but, even if he comes back, you're looking at one more season. Demby will move inside in the pros, but he has good size, vision and footwork. Nice late pick here for the Pack.
