Chorus tracking, @Joe4th! It said you last appeared at 10:57 AM this morning. You have until 1:15 PM EST.
Shit I’m sorry, you guys can pick for me, I won’t have a chance to sit down today and look things over
I've flown unnoticed just behind you like an insect And I watched you like The Falcons From a distance as you passed Then swooped down to be nearer To the traces of cleats' footsteps To pick the fallen grain From the pressed down turf as I looked at the draft And I'm gonna take that grain... AND IM GONNA CRUSH IT ALL TOGETHER Into a power running game That controls the ball, simple and sincere Until the dryness and the rain FINALLY DRINK FROM ONE ANOTHER The clock ticks for player selection, teams! Come on! *8 bar guitar solo followed by anthemic tambourine and clapping segment
With the 25th overall pick, the Tennessee Titans select Will Hernandez, G, UTEP The titans could really use some help with their o-line, and Hernandez is the best guard in the draft this year. Obvious pick in my opinion
Falcons don't NEED to replace guard so much as upgrade / add competition, and they don't like the value here. Wanted a DT but Rubin and Jarrett are decent starters. Also considered adding a TE but they want one that can block to replace Toilolo, Hooper is the move TE. Falcons select Courtland Sutton, SMU To me they are a great team for this project. One day Julio will be getting old, and even now running the whole play action pass offense through him is predictable and hard against some defenses. Atlanta needs another threat to remain a contender. He doesn't run a lot of routes and I wouldn't want him to be a WR1. But since they have Julio, hed be secondary. If you run the ball a lot you can have a limited Z Receiver (kinda what the Falcons do already with that position cause they don't have another threat WR). Let him learn the nuances of the position from Julio, and also see what he can do against single coverage while Julio gets all the double teams. With Matt Ryan throwing to him, I can imagine the improved ball placement would help him practice and improve his catch point skills as well, compared to the erratic passes he got at SMU. He has all the raw tools to be dominant as shit, 6'3", very physical and has young Dez Bryant speed. Its gonna take time but the Falcons have been twiddling their thumbs at WR2 since Roddy White declined. I like Justin Hardy but he's way better in the slot than outside, after that they have Andre Roberts who has always been a WR4 and nothing else. This offense has the potential to erupt over Matt Ryan's early thirties prime if they could develop a second passing threat to balance their rushing attack. I also think the Falcons are good enough as is to afford a harsh learning curve / possible bust.
I feel like this is probably true about any pick, but Pittsburgh is willing to trade back a bit if anyone wants to move back into the 1st round.
New Orleans Saints select Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville The draft won't fall like this at all and I don't think the Saints would trade up for Jackson, but if he falls into their lap I'm certain they give him heavy consideration. He will sit all of this upcoming season and by 2019, the Saints will have their heir to Brees ready for action.
