its cool ive only listened once, sounds like a ton of stuff ive already heard before though

 

I def could see that, I love how intense their vocals are though, that’s sort of the draw for me. Not gonna be an aoty or anything but I’ve played 2-3 times now and I’ve enjoyed it. It’s been hard to pull myself away from he Anthony Green album though

Looooove her, I always hit a brick wall when talking about her around here though

 

I live in Quebec so I hear her songs on the radio all the time. Also I've seen her live 2 years ago at a festival.

May in Review:
I love when this happens: pretty much all of my favorite music from May came completely out of nowhere. I got turned on to the soupy summer jams of Wooden Shjips through a Stereogum article and fell head over heels for Parquet Courts' new set of plucky rock anthems after never liking a song by them before. And LEON BRIDGES. Wow. The song "Beyond" is literally a classic and should heretofore be regarded as one.

There were some other great projects out this month, from Pusha T's tight opening salvo on this upgraded GOOD Fridays scheme to DJDS' stadium-ready tropical beats (they used Amber Mark better than her own EP did). My biggest disappointment was Now Now, who put out quite a good album but my expectations were literally at AOTY level. While ultimately there wasn't anything as good as "SGL" or "AZ" to me, I'm definitely going to keep listening as the nights get warmer.

But let's be real: the biggest moment of this month (and year so far) for me was in the very last hours of it, when The 1975 released "Give Yourself A Try", the first single from their forthcoming third studio album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships. Though it's only been out a week, I am sure it's my most played song of the year. It's a raw monster of a composition, one that I find more meaning in every time I turn it on. It makes me want to shout, jump around, Peanuts dance, sing, whoop, holler, and catch my breath in my chest at the same time. This is the beginning of something special.
