Damn. I look at some of these lists and wonder how you guys find the time to get through these albums. I feel like even after a full listen I can't really judge an album right away, and if an album doesn't grab me on first listen, I'm compelled to move on.

That, and I only listen to maybe a handful of new albums every month.

Need more time.

 

I also only listen to a handful of new albums each month but have become pretty good at thin-slicing for myself (by checking out songs and getting the general vibe of a record beforehand) so most of the stuff I listen to in full ends up being stuff I come back to often

It is not a good use of my time/energy/attention span to listen to dozens of full albums a month from bands I've not heard of before just in case I might like them, there are better ways to go about music discovery imo
