To my knowledge he would not pay any tax. I could be wrong on that because of some loophole I don't know about, but I know that Tennessee does not collect income tax and they did away with the jock tax against pro athletes a few years ago.

I was honestly surprised Mike Green didn’t get a bid war and come away with a stupid contract this time around. He isn’t that special, but there’s just never many good UFA Dmen on the market, and he was an all star this season.
The injury may have ruined his value to bidding teams, but it’s kinda crazy how hard it is to bring in a legit top dman in this league without drafting him.

 

Yea, I thought maybe he would get more but maybe it was comparable and he didn't want to move again? Plus the fact that he's like 34 and the team that everyone thought wanted him re-signed McDonough to a big deal. I almost want Karlsson to make it to UFA just to see how much he gets.
