Who are some prospects to watch for the 21-22 draft? Other than just enjoying watching games with nothing at stake / no real rooting interest until Seattle starts up I figure I should start paying attention to the possible top 10 prospects of their first draft class

Rumour is Kessel + Jack Johnson for Zucker + Victor Rask

That seems like such a dumb trade, does it help the pens for cap space or?

I think it’s better for Pittsburgh than Minnesota.

Zucker is no Kessel but he has 30 goal upside, and getting rid of Johnson’s contract is a win in itself.

Meanwhile Minnesota is not one Phil Kessel away from meaningfully competing, and Jack Johnson actively hurts the team.

 

Rask is really, really, bad tho

It's really zucker and some cap space for kessel and a terrible offload

It really depends what the pens do with the space they receive

VRask sucks but his impact is...less negligible

Idk why Pittsburgh would even trade Kessel unless it's for reloading the prospect pipeline

 

Idk Rutherford doesn't seem to give an ounce of shit for prospects. He's basically a much shittier version of gillis. Just wants to win now, they'll be awful for a decade because of it
