The Flames traded Fox's rights because he was never going to play for them and now he's being traded by the Canes for the same reason.

On one hand, I support players using whatever rights they have to get what they want. Players should always do what's best for them. On the other hand, players get drafted to fuckin' Arizona and make the best of it! The Hurricanes traded for you! Quit being a fuckin' baby and give it a shot!

The Hurricanes are good and fun! It seems to be a positive, player-friendly environment. Playing in New York City won't make up for being a part of a genuinely good organization.

 

Surprised they got anything for Fox since everyone knew he was going to the Rangers. They get an extra year but that's still more than I expected Carolina to get.

He likely was, but I guess it makes sense as an added security measure and having him join the team a year earlier. Still, Carolina did well given the situation.
