I hate Claude Julien. Giving Jordan freakin Weal 20 minutes of ice-time while Kotkaniemi only gets 7 minutes is absolutely ridiculous.

Also, I hate Drouin and his lazy ass as well.

 

Babcock has been mediocre since the Wings days. He refuses to adapt to how the league is now.

They haven’t looked good the last 11 or so games, no. We’re missing a few players on the backend but no excuse for playing like dogshit most nights

 

I’ll join in on the fun of bowing out. Landeskog getting injured, Voracek suspended, Krug concussed and Monahan sick was just too much.

I’ll probably make the finals in my money league though.

 

He has his quirks for sure. The fans in Detroit were getting pretty frustrated with him by the time he left. Looking back, there was a good portion of vocal fans (on the Internet, at least) who were ready for Blashill, excited for Blashill, and over it with Babs. It didn’t help that rumors swirled of players not wanting to sign because of him, Filppula bolting because of him, and Dan Cleary playing night after night.

Still, Babcock was really good at utilizing the roster he had in 2013-14, and I think that alone proved he was a pretty effective coach. Detroit had 2 players play 82 games that season- Quincey and Miller. Datsyuk & Zetterberg played 45 games each. Franzen played 54.

Still, when he makes the type of money he makes- specifically because he pushed hard to bring up salaries for coaches, he really does need to get bigger results these next couple of years.
