My favorite thing about Ted Lindsay was that he was always involved with the Red Wings even in the past decade. It was not uncommon for me to go to a game and see him in the concourse at the Joe - an incredibly approachable guy despite being at an advanced age. He was such a key part of the organization.

 

I didn't know a lot about the people behind the NHL award names and read all about them a while ago. He was one of the few that deserved that kind of recognition.

It's wild how his legacy has a lot to do with fighting back against other familiar names -- Smythe, Adams, Norris, etc.

Rittich was snakebitten tonight. He had a handful of aesthetically weak goals, but Ennis' hat trick / 5-1 goal was the only weak one. And that was... bad. But the other "bad" goals were simply awful luck.

I love Iginla, so it's kind of a shame that retiring his "12" was a result of the wrong side of 6x2 for his team.
