I don’t want the Canes to do anything stupid and trade a huge asset this year, but they really need to make a move for the playoffs. Ending the 10-year drought would be huge for the franchise considering how bright the future appears to be right now.

I'm hyped. Didn't think Botterill was gonna do anything, Montour is exactly what they need on defense since no one besides Dahlin can effectively get the puck up the ice. Guhle has plateaued a bit in his development but Anaheim taking him for Montour makes sense to me. From what I know about Montour they seem to be mostly in the same mold.

So basically, he’s going somewhere other than MTL.
