That trade was not good for Calgary

 

It could have been worse.... but it could have been a lot better. Lindholm fills a need and Hanifin has incredible potential. Fox was most likely not going to sign in Calgary anyways and Ferland is a third-liner that we had playing on the first. Hamilton hurts though. He's a top-tier offensive defenseman going into his prime on a bargain contract. He had to have been a locker room issue because there is no other reason to move him that makes sense.

I'm hearing rumblings that it was either Dougie and Bennett for Lindholm and Hanifin or what ended up happening so at the very least, Calgary picked the right offer. I'm slowly accepting what has happened even if I don't agree with it. If Hanifin can step up, this will be fine.

Edit: Twitter is telling me that Calgary won the trade so that is what I choose to believe.

 

If Peters wasn’t your coach I’d say you might have won the trade.

But overall I think both teams are happy about it. It was a pretty even trade. The winner will be determined by Hanifin’s development and what becomes of Fox.
