I think the amount you pay your best players is less consequential than the amount you pay your worst

~$20 mill for McDavid and Drai is expensive but worth it; ~$10 mill for Lucic and Russell is a budget-killing necklace around the long-term success of the Oilers

well in our case we're paying all our bad players a ton that kills our budget

 

For the record, I don't actually think Fiala is part of whatever this deal is, but I'm dead set that he will be traded by the deadline one way or another.

Boyle is awesome. FYI he basically hasn't played much center this year but he has been great on special teams

 

He may have more power play goals than the Preds have scored all year lol. So I'm excited for this.
