Yeah Marner has been better than Matthews in nearly every way

 

centers will and should always get paid more than wingers

This Edler news is a bit odd considering how it looked.

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Alex Edler is out with a concussion after he had to be carted off the ice Monday night in a freak on-ice accident in Philadelphia.

"No fractures," Canucks coach Travis Green told reporters in Washington before Tuesday's game against the Capitals. "He got a lot of stitches. He'll be out at least a week."

 

These leaf contracts give me anxiety.

Hall is going to get like $11 million and I will be OK with it but its gonna pain me a little bit

I agree with this in theory but I don't think Marner and his camp are in the wrong. At all.

 

Seeing some these contracts makes me laugh. How David Poile gets some these low contracts I'll never understand.

I would say Arvidsson is one of the best contracts out there lol.

 

Forsberg $6m AAV through 21-22.
Arvidsson $4.25 AAV through 23-24.
Josi $4m AAV through 19-20.
Ekholm $3.75m AAV through 21-22.

Those are the shockingly low ones. Then you factor in Johansen at $8m AAV through 24-25, Turris at $6m AAV through 23-24, Jarnkork at $2m AAV through 21-22, Ellis at $6.25m AAV through 26-27, and this team should be good for a long while with plenty of wiggle room.

 

Colorado has fallen behind St Louis in the playoff race and that is just shocking to me considering how those two teams started the season.

 

Palmieri at $4.65 and Coleman at $1.8 are the Devils only real "bargains"

then again most of their important players need new contracts very soon

I have no idea what Aho signs for, which is a weird thing to say. I would honestly do 10 straight up, if it were max term. The kid is stupidly talented, and has kept us in playoff contention almost singlehandedly, all while this being his first season playing center. I don’t see why he wouldn’t use the Eichel contract as a comparable, and I don’t blame him.
