Hextall's ridiculous loyalty to the coaching staff is part of the reason why the team is in a ditch so Hak is likely gone by the trade deadline.

now don't take this as me saying he has been good this year....he certainly has not. But the amount of defensive breakdowns and crazy shit that happen when he is in goal are nuts. It is like he is cursed.

Last week against Carolina, they scored twice in the first 30 seconds off of 2 horrendous defensive zone breakdowns. Cory shut them out the rest of the game but NJ only mustered one goal. If that were Kinkaid, they'd win that game 5-2 or some shit

I love it. I wish they would make rule changes that negatively impacted players who do what Kovy and Datsyuk did - just leaving the league and breaking their contract. I feel as though he should be treated similar to a player coming over from Europe for the first time, forced to play for an entry level style of deal- only in this case the Devils would retain his rights and would have the opportunity to keep him on a 1yr deal.

You shouldn’t be able to leave while under contract and come back after half a decade to sign another multi million dollar deal.

 

I wouldn't take him on the Devils if he played for free

I was thinking the Devils would be entitled to compensation, not seriously considering utilizing him. I mean, they already lost draft picks because of him, they should have been able to get some back.

You almost have to think the GM is bringing a coach with him.

But my #1 takeaway from that presser is that Homer wants multiple trades by the deadline so you can probably say goodbye now to guys like Morgan Frost, Phillipe Myers, Robert Hagg (in contract year), German Rubtsov, and the like....sounds like they're also going to baptize Carter Hart by fire later in the year which ya know....is bad.
