Because we finally got the #1 pick, and had a good off-season. We were the darkhorse team for a lot of the experts coming into the season, we're just actually delivering for once. Maybe Housley will eventually win me over, but not yet

That seems like a lottt for duchene, maybe he would take less than 9m a year to play somewhere that isn't hopeless? I would trade some prospects and maybe a relatively high 2020 pick for him if he would sign in van, meh

 

Buffalo has always seemed like a team with strong MAGA energy to me. I arbitarily disliked Mittelstadt on sight because he looks like affluenza in human form, and then I checked the Twitter likes and felt justified

But yeah, it's inescapable with every team -- cheering for individual players (that are seemingly good people) instead of entire teams helps my guilt somewhat

The NHL is 95% white dudes...a league that still let's Don cherry talk on air. The only league that won't make changes to make the game more entertaining because history and tradition is so important. I'd expect the majority of players and coaches to be maga chuds.

being new to the sport, i don't have any ill-will towards any players or teams yet, but i agree with this and i don't know why

 

It's really a game that has needs starting from its youth and I really think if some of these guys played with some POC instead of just crackers their entire lives, there wouldn't be nearly as many shitheads. This game systematically freezes out POC from being able to play and that's a huge issue. I can't imagine the game will be doing as well in 10yrs if they don't start taking steps to fix that soon.
