Boyle's just leaning forward on his stick a little. Does his head get hit? Sure, but the main point of contact was the shoulder. He wasn't in a vulnerable position, that's a good hit to me

Would be dope if people got as upset about shitty open ice hits as they do when one player licks another, but hey

 

He bends forward to play the puck, corrects himself to stand straight and then gets leveled by Buff. I don't see a problem with the hit.

You've just got bias because you're a Devils fan, and that's fine. I'd probably also react the same way if it were a Leaf taking that hit. But from a neutral standpoint, it looked clean

 

In some cases bad hits can be unavoidable, it felt like this one was a little bit of that. I love Boyle, I also hate full speed bumps on open ice that causes collisions like that and I wish they could take them out of the game to prevent stuff like that from happening in the first place.

 

Campbell out 4-6 weeks for the Kings. Tough luck this season, Budaj expected to fill in.
