Just did some quick math to include all purpose yards and got this:

Bell - 3,834 yards at 27 games played, average of 142 per game
Elliott - 3,790 yards at 29 games played, average of 130.69 per game
Gurley - 3,837 yards at 35 games played, average of 109.63 per game


Stats aren't an zero sum 100% accurate way to say "this player is better than that player" but it's clear that at the very least, even when you include their receiving abilities and stats, Elliott is closer to the top with Bell than Gurley is even to Elliott, much less Bell.

 

gurley was not fully unlocked until fisher left and the Rams OL was absolutely putrid his first 2 years. X100

 

Sure, I agree, but Zeke is held back by Garrett and Linehan in that he is almost never ever used as a receiving threat in any way.

I'm 100% positive everyone here would agree Goff is better than Dak, so shouldn't that make it even more impressive that Zeke has better stats than him?

 

I just think that Bell and Gurley are better than Zeke

Even if Zeke was the best back in the league....his prime is going to be wasted since they have no WRs, a turd for a QB and an offensive line with loads of problems at just about every spot outside of right guard.

 

Saying "period, the end" and that you "have no dog in this fight" is pointless unless you either bring some kind of breakdown of stats or reasoning or something other than "here's my opinion that I'm stating as a fact, now I'm taking my ball and going home." Like, you aren't providing any context or comparison anywhere.

I'd understand if I just ranted saying Zeke is absolutely #1 with zero evidence behind that, but I'm at least trying to provide reasoning. And if you don't want to, alright whatever, no need to continue commenting about it.

I didn't discount your opinion. I got stats that backed up my opinion even more and made your point about them getting way more catches into context and you ignored them completely.

Just because people are agreeing with you doesn't automatically mean you're correct.

Top five is some order of Bell, Zeke, Gurley, Kamara, and probably Howard, but there are a few other guys you could switch him out with.

 

I would have to say that Corey Clement would be in that Top 5 (Maybe Top 2 or even 1) as well.

There are a bunch of running backs who are better than Zeke IMHO

 

This is a great expression lol

 

He's had a rough start to this year, but his quality of play in 2016 and 2017 showed that he's a great running back and is capable. I'm not going to give up on him just because he's looked bad a few games this year.

 

CMC is making a good case for #5 tbh

Both great players who could fight out that five spot for me.

 

Gordon is a decent rb

 

No particular order after Kamara & Gurley.
And yes, I seriously believe in the sudden emergence of Adrian Peterson in 2018

 

He’s fine, but I’d absolutely kick his ass to the curb for DJ, Gordon, McCaffrey, Hunt, Barkley, and probably Mixon and Fournette (assuming full health, etc).
