Trai Turner was def on my mind as a player people are forgetting. Still one of the best run blocking linemen in the league.

 

Injuries, mostly. Their roster does not inspire a lot of optimism though.

I thought they would regress at the beginning of the season and there were good reasons to say that, but it feels much more realistic that they’re a playoff team now that every single Atlanta Falcon is broken

Daryl Williams getting hurt was big. He was going to play RT with Moton at LT and the OL was set. This Clark dude had a solid game against Cincy though. Really, the entire OL did. McCaffrey went for 185 yards and the OL deserves majority of the credit. Gaping holes.

 

Barnwell: How a team could trade its young QB starter and thrive

Thought this was interesting. Basically the concept is to load a team with a QB on a rookie contract with a great supporting cast (ie. Rams/Eagles). But then when the QB gets to the end of his contract, trade him for some draft picks and draft another QB to plug into the system. Crazy. But something to think about.

I like bill barnwell but that theory only works with teams like the pats and maybe a few others, meh

Yeah most teams are not that good at evaluating QB talent or coaching QBs

Coaches like Belicheck, Pederson, McVay and Reid would be the only ones who could do it

 

I think a lot of people underselling the Panthers has a lot to do with that Cam really regressed the last two years as a passer. He's looked much better this year so far

 

It's definitely an interesting theory but it just wouldn't work for 90% of teams

 

Cam’s regression had a lot to do with his shoulder. Seems to be healthy now.
