I like Radiohead, but I'm not obsessed with them or anything. I could maybe name ten songs off the top of my head.

They're fine, but none of their stuff has hooked me enough to make me want to dig deeper.

    Nope. Supporter

I've tried on multiple occasions to get in to The National, the vocals just aren't for me. Radiohead I honestly haven't given much of a chance but the few songs i've heard I didn't care for

The National is very very good and somehow @CarpetElf makes me HATE them because he won't stop talking about how they're the best thing to ever exist

I think they're at their best as a weird rock band which is why I think of them as such. The album Hail to the Thief has songs I would show a person who was indifferent to Radiohead so they could see multiple sides of them.

    -"2+2 = 5" shows their frantic side, almost punk-rock-aggressive
-"Sail to the Moon" is a gorgeous piano led, jazzy song
-"Go To Sleep" is like mathy radio rock - weird time signature but comfortable, aggressive melodies
-"Where I End & You Begin" is just infectious house drums & bass guitar with background ambience that gets louder and -thicker as the song goes on
-"There There" is crunchy, downtempo, 90s style indie-rock
-"Punchup at a Wedding" is like piano blues with an attitude (but an electronic drumbeat?)
-"I Will" is almost like, bedroom emo, one soft fingerpicked electric guitar with 4 part vocal harmonies
-"Wolf At The Door" is straight up one of Radiohead's best songs, epic sounding & the vocals really take lead and have an infectious style to them

And that still doesn't get into the grungy 90s brit-rock on The Bends, the Shoegazy atmospheres & jazz guitar riffs on In Rainbows, or the glitchy, colorful electronic stuff you'd hear on Kid A or Moon Shaped Pool.

All of those things can be true and still I don't find them to be a terribly memorable band haha.

Not in terms of influence or talent, but in terms of how can I listen to an album five times and remember nothing?

Not the case for me, I find their songs to be very distinctive. I hate albums where I can't tell the songs apart, which is a problem I have with most punk rock. I remember exact parts of Radiohead songs because they are distinct and diverse.

They always have some weird part that sounds unique and then often a really sneaky good chorus that comes out of it that gets stuck in my head.
