Off a franchise tag, sure. Just randomly? Not really...if Seattle wanted, they could suspend Earl Thomas 4 games for conduct detrimental to the team (which would cost him about $2mil). And he likely played for free this week, since they can fine him a game check.

maximum fine of an amount equal to one week’s salary and/or suspension without pay for a period not to exceed four (4) weeks.

That said, I am really curious to see if players come together in 2019-2020 to start doing more things like this. There's a lot of outspoken players who have taken more active roles coming into this CBA.

But the way the current CBA is structured, they basically made hold outs meaningless. They can take 25% of their salary for pre-season holdouts, and 50% of their salary for a holdout that lasts into Week 1. There's very little players can do beyond signing 1 year deals, etc to change that structure.

Guys I know this goes without saying but holy SHIT Mahomes is good. Watching KC / SF right now. Mahomes first TD was incredible.

In the red zone, so defenders all bunched up in a small part of the field. The pass rush gets there right away but, Patty Mayonnaise (thanks @Fucking Dustin) is also way quicker than I expected him to be.

He literally got around Ruben Foster and Arik Armstead around by running to the left to avoid the bull rush, and then backward to the right to escape Foster. And then flings a DART, on the run, that slices through the safety and corner in a Cover 2 with about 5 yards of space between them. Perfectly leading Chris Conley from the middle to the back corner of the end zone.

Like, dude just did a corkscrew move to evade a defender with his legs, keeps his composure despite his RT getting bull rushed. Then while sprinting back across the field gets his eyes up and makes a perfect read. And then whips a Favre-like laser 20 yards through tight zone defense on an improv play. That’s one of the plays of the year.

Also. Shanahan was calling a perfect second half and Jimmy G was on his way to a comeback. There were like 6 or 7 catchable dropped passes by 49ers players and then multiple other big plays called back by penalties, including two TDs that became field goals afterward.

The torn ACL was Jimmy's fault though, and its heartbreaking cause it came after he orchestrated 3 beautiful scoring drives. He wanted to win so bad. He thought about running out of bounds on 3rd & goal after a TD got called back, hesitated, tried to cut back inside... but when you hesitate with indecision your body also tenses up. His foot was planted awkwardly, and his knee got locked in a sideways position when a defender slammed into him.

Really sad. G had a bad game against MInnesota but I was not wrong about him. SF has had a crazy amount of dropped passes and bad luck with the refs through 3 games.

I for one didn't think Mahomes would be good, I'm glad I'm wrong though !

It’s almost like sitting the rookie, and letting him just learn for a year was the smart move. Weird!

Nah. Depends highly on the situation. Theres no point in sitting Darnold. Rosen too. Mahomes HAD to sit. Plus, let's not pretend like that isnt the #1 offensive scheme in the NFL. Maybe #2. But Andy Reid could not have built a better situation for Mahomes.

That is not working out so well for us so far. Part of the issue is play-calling though

Ditto. This is why I think the Reid and Holmgren disciples do so well.

I’m sitting two tables down from Mark Brunell in a suit talking to a financial advisor. At this bougie coffee shop in San Marco.

Probably won’t say anything, he seems quite busy, but it’s still cool. Jax has a tiny urban area haha, it’s actually pretty easy to bump into current and past Jags players

  18. Mahomes is a bum for throwing that one INT cmon now

Texas Tech had 854 yards that game and Mahomes is responsible for 819 of them lol

And he ran 12 times for 84 yards.

Mahomes literally had 100 touches that game that weren’t just handoffs.

KJ just salty Reid never drafted a SuperBowl caliber offense like KC's the whole time he was with the Eagles

When the year ends and Mahomes stats read 80 TDs 1 INT, as long as that 1 INT is Ramsey, I'll be fine
