Speaking of slot corners, DJ Hayden should’ve played slot his whole career. It sucks he got drafted to a talentless Raiders defense to play CB1 cause he doesn’t have that skill set frankly.

But in terms of defending the run & the middle of the field, with the occasional man coverage play (but not as much constant pressure) from the slot? Dude has been even better than Colvin so far. Im surprised.

He sacked Tom Brady, and I’ve tallied 3 tackles for loss and another one right at the line so far. Pretty sure he also has a pass defensed while man-covering a corner route.

 

I've already said this before - he was not CB1 in Oakland.

He has been good so far though. And is playing on the best team he's ever played for. Hopefully he keeps it up.

He actually was CB1 for awhile after he was drafted and then got demoted because David Amerson and Sean Smith outplayed him

Yeah, for one season. He opened his sophomore season at CB3 and opened the next year at CB4.

 

No, look at the depth charts. 2013 - 2015 he was the starting left outside corner. 2016 he was the primary slot guy.
