I'm not worried about Deshaun's actual skill, I'm worried about the fact the Texans fucking shellshocked him by putting him behind our terrible offensive line last season. I'm furious Rick Smith wasted the time when we had a top 10 line and waited until we had nothing but Duane Brown to get a franchise QB...and then traded Duane Brown. He has SO little time to throw. Our run game is great as noted by GreatBeardRecs, and somehow it STILL doesn't distract enough to get Watson enough time to pass because we can't do shit about any rush. Our LG straight up let Logan Ryan in the backfield on a blitz where he might as well have yelled "I'm gonna blitz!" to him. This whole team sucks.

And more than anything I'm worried that we just played fucking Blaine Gabbert while both Taylor Lewan and Jack Conklin were out with injuries, and JJ Watt and Whitney Mercilus had a combined zero sacks and gave up at least 2 first downs in the game to a fucking wildcat offense. It's pathetic.

We're going to waste Deshaun Watson so much worse than we ever wasted Andre Johnson or Arian Foster or JJ Watt, and it's gonna suck. The only hint of positivity I have about this team right now is "We're not the Bills" and even that might not be a silver lining.

 

I feel the need to go to therapy.

Damn. Welp. Only way to fix things is to recommit to the offensive line. No one would be mad if y’all used 3 out of your first 4 picks on OL to be honest, you’ve got talent elsewhere. Maybe a solid CB in round 2 or a RB in round 3 if Dont’a stays hurt.

The thing about getting no sacks though is surprising. What about Clowney how did he do? I’ve seen that Tyrann Matthieu has been good already.

 

Mathieu has been great and I guess that would be another silver lining, hopefully we actually retain him. Clowney was out for the Titans game. WOO!

Their line is okay enough that you could probably fix it in a year, right? Like, the bad parts are real bad, but there’s also pieces there. Martin, Fulton, and Rankin (at a position that isn’t LT) should be 3 serviceable starters

I am just glad we have an OL whisperer as our head coach. Changed everything. It’s all about moving forward with consistency, and making things as straightforward and easy for Bortles as possible. Steady positive gains all day, and it works because you’re not gonna have a steady offense against our D.
