Dak missed A LOT of throws yesterday. I was really happy with how the Panthers defense played, especially against Zeke. But yesterday would've been different if Dak wasn't so bad throughout the game. He consistently missed his targets, one of which would've been an easy touchdown if he didn't dirt-ball it. I was very surprised because I was a fan of Dak before that.

Coleman largely stunk in Cleveland (who doesn't?). He'd be a great fit in Philly, who lacks speed.

Plus he was one of the guys Cleveland got with the Wentz trade so it'd be even better to see him come in a produce even a little bit.

Eagles had to play Deandre Carter (who barely made the roster as a UDFA) a lot last week. They need to make a move until Alshon gets back in a few weeks.

 

3 Panthers players stood out to me yesterday, all on defense.

Dontari Poe - while he didn't jump out on the stat sheet his value was simply his presence. On multiple occasions I noticed Dallas double teaming Poe which made things easy for Short (who was probably our best player overall). Very few, if any, can handle Short one on one. The combo of Poe and Short will wreck havoc all season.

Shaq Thompson - this dude is really starting to shine now that Thomas Davis is out of his way. Shaq's speed was very apparent yesterday. He was in the backfield so fast, blew by Smith multiple times. And he has improved so much against the run. I think he's learned a lot playing next to Luke, it's obvious. Shaq is about to be a pro-bowler.

Donte Jackson - everyone knows the rookie is fast. What surprised me was the aggression. For a CB, he is a great tackler and will lay you out in the process. There is still a learning curve with him and it may be awhile before he really breaks out, but the potential there is very clear. Him and Bradberry will be a nice duo for years to come.

 

Team Patriots for week 2, because I would like to be able to talk myself into an 0-2 Colts team still being playoff “contenders”

 

If we can actually win this time that'll be huge. Start the season solidly ahead of our division. I want to beat the Pats and then the Titans after that SO BAD

 

Say what you want about Bortles, I don't care anymore, he had a shit week 1 in year 5 against a not-that-good defense, and I'm done defending his ass.

But our defense ALWAYS gives us a chance. Every single week. Don't care who we play. We got a chance because scoring more than 20 points against us is really hard.
