I just am so happy with Barry Church. I’ve had safeties on my wishlist in drafts for the past 5 years and we ended up backdoor getting one in FA that became a way better player after a year with us. He’s been all over the place week 1 and preseason.

He’s just shown extremely fast reaction time coming downhill on tackles, great instincts recognizing weak spots & preventing coverage busts, and has been confidently swatting the ball down whenever he’s in range.

Yep. He’s the only player from our huge secondary change that I wanted to keep. And we wanted to, but just couldn’t afford him. I’m glad he’s doing well with y’all.

 

How on Earth can the Cowboys not afford anyone? They've got like five good players that aren't rookie contracts.

I was talking about after our 2016 season when we dumped all of our secondary and couldn’t afford Church’s free agent value. He deservedly was going to get a great deal from someone and we still had Romo’s contract on the books.

I believe this upcoming offseason we’re slated at like top five in amount of cap room, so that should help a lot.

 

Maybe you can get a qb

 

I’m still in for Dak throughout his rookie contract. We’ve seen what he can do with a good supporting cast, so his cheap cost is worth trying to build around that and hopefully coach him up in other ways.

We need to get a new offensive coordinator badly.

Rivers has only played in 3 less playoff games than Eli and has been better than him his entire career, as well as Ben.
