Y’all a bunch of wussies in the northeast. It was 93 degrees and THICK humid when I woke up and went outside at 8:40 this morning. I’d love to have Philly’s weather right now hahah

Florida is the worst. It’s even hot as fuck at night in the summer.

I’ll tell you what’s really hard. Trying to sing at the top of your lungs and focus on playing hard guitar parts at an outdoor show in 95 humid degrees.

1) your arms, shirt, and fingers are just DRENCHING the guitar in sweat, making it hard to be precise on the slippery fingerboard

2) using all of your breath and every gasp of air feels like it just came out of an oven, which compresses your lungs and makes it harder to get a full breath. So you start having to take extra breaths in the middle of vocal phrases, and you’re like dying of suffocation the whole time

3) Trying to focus on singing and playing, the stress of the challenge and of straining your voice just makes you sweat even more

4) sweat starts to drip into your eyes from your hair, and it stings and you can’t see, but you also can’t stop playing to wipe it

5) after awhile you get dehydrated and delirious, and it really gets harder and harder to stay focused on the song, and not make lazy mistakes

It takes so much effort to sing on key and play with energy at an outdoor show in FL haha. When I watch videos I sound fine and people can’t tell how hard a time I’m
having, but on that stage I am struggling to keep up with the songs & pushed to my limit haha. I remember when I was a kid every band on Warped Tour would bitch and bitch and bitch about the heat, and now I totally get it. You can’t see, you can’t breathe, you can’t think, and you can’t grip the guitar lol

I can’t begin to understand how dudes play football for 4 hours in that shit. It’s actually not far fetched at all to die from heat exhaustion if you don’t say extremely hydrated.

 

florida is a shitty state

 

My AC wasn’t working well, maybe operating at 10%, when DFW was in the middle of the ‘100 degree every day for a month’ period and I thought I was going to die.

 

There is a Packer/Wisconsin sports local brewery/bar here and it is amazin

 

Florida IS shitty but my house is dope, most things are affordable, and I have a weird nostalgic feeling about Jax since I grew up here that makes me feel comfortable, even though I know it’s not that great at all.

 

I played pick up football Monday in MA where it was like 86 degrees out and we were DYING.

When you add hotter weather, an extra 3 hours, pads, and the EVERYTHING about playing real football...yikes.
