Chiefs in the Super Bowl? Bold.

  4. I don’t remember what I predicted on that site but my official Super Bowl pick is Steelers v Vikings.

Tsk tsk. People don’t think we are gonna do well this season because of Bortles and backup WRs. I’m not seeing a lot of favorable playoff predictions. For example, losing to the Steelers even though we swept them HARD last year.

But we just did last year with Bortles and backup WRs lol. Plus our defense, OL and running game all got better.

Kinda like how some of you think the Bears will suck forever because of Trubisky. It’s still a team sport. A good roster is a good roster. Exhibit A - Titans earned wild card and won a playoff game despite Mariota having an objectively bad season, worse than Bortles OR Trubisky.

  7. Jags defense is obviously very good. But it’s hard to have sustained success with bad QB play. The margin of error is very small. They could very well be a playoff team again but expecting another deep run is too optimistic for me. I will never trust Bottles.

The Jags are a great team, but they're only going to be the Jets of ~8 years ago until Bortles takes a step up.

I feel like the better example is the Browns. People are thinking the Browns barely improved despite vastly improving pretty much every level of their game.

Also, Jags/Vikes Super Bowl. I know it won't come to pass but that's the best outcome.*

Because I can tell all of you to fuck off about Kirk Cousins and the Jaguars

Who's here for a Browns/Bears Super Bowl? This guyyyyy

I see what you mean, but the Browns still have one of the worst coaches I've ever seen and have won 1 game in the past two years under him. No matter how you slice it, the guy is shit and any expectations for him to suddenly do a complete 180 and start competing is just crazy to me.

He's one 1 game in two years with a terrible roster. They now have a three headed running attack, two very good receivers, an up and coming tight end, a QB who despite his flaws doesn't lose a lot, a revamped secondary, and an underrated linebacker corps.

They aren't a playoff team but they're definitely vastly improved and thinking they're still a 1 or 2 win team is absurd.

I just think people “know” that we are stacked but they don’t realize just HOW stacked lol.

Like come on late 2000s Jets? Our whole defensive line destroys theirs. Ramsey may not quite be Revis but he’s close and Bouye >> Cromartie, etc

I know it’s frowned upon on principle to compare a non Super Bowl defense to a SuperBowl defense but I honestly think we are about to be as good on that side of the ball as LOB Seahawks / 2006 Bears.

And too many people are focusing on Bortles, which is good. I hope NFL teams do that too. Cause they and you are about to get blindsided by Fournette’s second year and an offense that involves Corey Grant in the open field much more often.

Bortles is just there to throw 23 times a game and keep his damage to a minimum - 190 yards and 2 TD, 1 INT is plenty. He barely has to meet the requisite for a starting QB in order for us to beat good teams, which reminds me directly of the 2001 Ravens’ Trent Dilfer. (I won’t compare us to the 2001 Ravens. They had a ton of shutouts and Ray Lewis is untouchable.)

I guess I don't understand what you meant by comparing the Jaguars to the Browns then.

My point was that the current Jaguars are the Mark Sanchez Jets in that they made two AFC Championships in a row off the back of an elite defense and a great rushing attack.

Oh no i was responding to Randall when he said the people only dislike the Bears because they aren't looking at the team.

  18. Every team in the Jags division has improved.

Colts get Luck back. Added to the OL and defense.
Houston has a healthy Watson and Watt plus added Reid and Badger.
Titans are a mystery but I’m glad they have a new coach.

Titans got new helmets and jerseys which are tight af, so they definitely improved.

The Colts and Texans both have subpar offensive lines though and that’s gonna be their issue with beating us until they make it a strong point of their team. Hard to play against a generationally gifted defensive line when your QB never has time.

The Titans are just... annoying and yeah they tend to beat us way too often. Because they CAN block our pass rush and take advantage of our aggressiveness with a top 3 offensive line in the NFL. We gotta stop that shit.

Colts added players that aren't very good to their defense. The best defensive player they drafted is on IR and their second best one is an UDFA.

  22. Texans and Colts are weak at OL but they both have mobile QBs to offset that weakness.

I definitely fear the Texans roster and the Titans because of superstition. Only thing that gives me optimism though is the Texans are a very one sided team. They've got an elite passing attack and an elite pass rush but their secondary is booty and their running game is literally praying D'Onta Foreman is healthy and good.

Hahaha. They can try. Yannick, Telvin and Jack all run just as fast as Watson. Any one of them could weakside contain / QB spy, which still gives us defensive scheme versatility.

Secondary should be solid, I’ll disagree with that

Defense looks super good on paper this season all the way around
