I guess I dont understand not offering him 5/150/90 instead. And if it works out great, you can have him for 2 more years at what will be reasonable salaries by then (every franchise QB will be at $30+mil in 4 years), and you can spread out the cap hit and free up $12mil/yr, with only the 4th/5th year downside, which, lets be honest, you swing and miss on a 5/150 deal, you're fucked no matter what.

Because year 4 he is impossible to franchise tag (144% of $30mil is YEESH), and the leverage he holds into that contract year 3 is insane
