I was checking on some players in my fantasy league and apparently there was a giant storm right as they were kicking off, caused a long game delay and also injured a receiver warming up because the field was so soaked. I'm guessing that's why? Haha

 

What? Janikowski was the kicker for Seattle tonight. P sure Myers didn’t see the field.

Their new punter though? Holy shit. Two 57 yard punts out of bounds inside the 5 in one game. That dude definitely won the job.

Jags were ahead of them in sacks, turnovers, and yards. You tried Minnesota, maybe embrace second place? Lol

 

Vikings / Seahawks takeaways

1) Kirk Cousins did not look comfortable in that offense. Partially because of the line but they need to implement more spread offense to use him to his strengths. His footwork becomes erratic when he feels even a little pressure during a standard dropback.

2) Linval Joseph and Sheldon Richardson got pushed to opposite sides like double doors for the Seahawks first touchdown, and that was a microcosm of the defensive narrative. While the pass rush was there, the run D was leaky and not what I expected from a stacked DL.

3) best Vikings reserve players:
-Anthony Harris (#41). I wasn’t a fan when he came out of UVA. But tbh he played great against Jags AND Seahawks. The Vikings have 3 good safeties.
-Stephen Weatherly (#91) gets upfield very well and sets the edge against the run.
-their 3rd string QB (#1) scored the two TDs that won the game. Trevor Siemian played like trash. I am on team Sloter.

4) Wilson should have saved that 45 yard, contested, diving, toe-tapping, sideline bomb to Stevie Johnson for the regular season. Cause that was NUTS. The play was literally indefensible, there was nothing the CB could have done about it in that situation. Wilson just fucking drops dimes sometimes.

5) Gonna be a long year for that OL. Only bad part of the Vikings roster... but it could ruin the idea of trying to capitalize on their window with Cousins. He definitely struggles to stay calm under pressure.

6) Brandon Marshall is still very hard to press cover. Rhodes had his hands full.

 

@Randall Mentzos the punter is rookie Michael Dickson. Best in the draft easily.

 

Myers is the Jets kicker now.

I think Jules thought he missed an XP but that was Taylor Bertolet.

Weird. The magazine that had all the info about the game listed Jason Myers as a backup kicker, he must have got cut last week. And actually listed Jon Ryan as the starting punter but there’s just no way he held off the rookie after this preseason.

I was like, two kickers and two punters? That is some authentic Pete Carroll bullshit lol

 

ok, not trying... but taking unnecessary risks in a game that doesn't matter. The Panthers looked on point last night though. I'm pretty optimistic for them this season.
