He deserves to be in my opinion.

 

We got robbed of the Deshaun Watson show last year, hopefully we get more this year

 

I trust jalen

 

He's played 7 games and 4 or 5 of them were good or great. His statistics are at an unsustainable level unless he literally goes on to be one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. I also remember reading that he had one of the highest, if not the highest, amount of turnover worthy throws while he was playing.

He did a great job for what was around him, and could go on to be great, but it's way to early to say he's going to be in MVP contention for the next 5-10 years.

 

I just get annoyed with people saying outrageously hyperbolic statements without truly doing your research.

 

Watson is pretty damn talented but I think it’ll take time for him to get up to speed mentally. He didn’t play long enough last year to hit that wall where teams adjusted to his speed / habits in terms of what throws he leans on... and played more conservatively to bait turnovers. I still think it’s looming.

But he’s definitely one of those players who can make shit happen on raw talent while he’s learning how to be a more diverse and refined player

 

Hard Knocks thoughts:
- Glad Coleman is gone because I don't want to have to root for a guy who will go bankrupt on shoes
- I'm surprised the cop who pulled Callaway over didn't give him a soft-serve vanilla cone after the ticket. I do really like Callaway though
- Cajuste got heartfelt but he feels like a Lonely Island creation who shouldn't get focus because he'll probably be in first cuts
- With Joe Thomas retired, Hodor is still the best blocker we've ever seen on HBO

 

To be fair Dak got overhyped after one season. I mean he did play a full season but still.

Sure, a lot of people overhyped him too much. But now the hyperbolic statements have swung the other way.

In reality, he, just like the majority of quarterbacks out there, plays at a high level with quality starters around him and struggles when those players are injured and/or suspended. Same thing happens to all quarterbacks outside of maybe 3 or 4 and those are the unquestioned elite ones like Rodgers, Brady, Brees, and I'll throw in Wilson.

 

Sure, that's true but seeing what Watson was able to do last year with what he had was impressive and warrents the hype. Sure he was to prove he can do it for a full year and it'll be interesting to see if he can with all the pressure being thrown on him.

 

He warrants some hype, sure. But MVP contention for 5-10 years? Come on... Even putting Wentz at that level seems nuts to me. That kind of statement should be reserved for those 3 or 4 quarterbacks I mentioned earlier who can and do win constantly regardless of their surrounding players.

 

Another analogy is someone claiming some director is the next Kubrick or Spielberg after making one or two great movies.

Just cool your jets, people.

 

Totally disagree that Jimmy G is mostly schemes. I mean yeah that has a lot to do with it, but also that is NOT an easy scheme. Like, you have to have a good QB with PRECISE timing and accuracy who can quickly make it through 3 reads in order to execute it the way it’s intended

 

let the Nfl players have fun and make exaggerated statements because they shouldn't be boring

 

At worst Jimmy G is Alex Smith. At worst.
