Agreed, and he definitely didn't handle it appropriately, but I give him credit for at least putting his foot down. He needs to assert himself more.

Rodgers > Manning. If Rodgers played his entire career and avoided injury, he'd very legitimately be in the conversation for being the GOAT.

Manning's records are all set to be broken by Drew Brees anyway.

 

I hate the Saints but I’ll admit, Drew Brees has gone fairly under appreciated in his career. He never gets mentioned in the all-time greats convo.

 

Imo Rodgers had the potential to be better than Manning but he got hurt a lot just as he was reaching it and now the chances of that happening are diminished

Rodgers is a top 10 but not quite top 5 imo

 

The hypothetical Aaron Rodgers popping his head up as being better than Manning and Brady again. No QB can withstand the hypothetical Aaron Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers has had two seasons with more than 10 INTs. Peyton Manning had one with fewer than 10 INTs.

Rodgers is 100 percent top five. He can do it all. He's just had the misfortune of being injured and playing for a bad coach with a bad GM.

 

It’s ok, I would have blocked the years 2000-2015 from my football memory if I were a Jags fan too :)

 

Rodgers is the most talented quarterback I've seen with my own eyes in real time. But due to health and coaching, it's doubtful he'll ever be "greater" than Brady, Manning, Montana, Marino, etc...

 

Yeah, in terms of actual skill and ability, Rodgers is one of the best ever without a doubt. His injuries and the incompetence of the Packers denied him the chance to compete for being the GOAT.

 

Rodgers is 34. Something would have to go very wrong for him to not end up as a consensus top 5 QB of all time by the time he retires in 5+ years

Manning had a literal 15 year stretch where every year aside from 2005 was a 4000+ yd season (‘05 was the Super Bowl year they actually ran the ball and played defense - he threw for 3739)

Only Brees has even approached that (he’s on his 12th straight 4000+ yard season).

He also still holds the regular season yards and TD records, as well as still being more than an MVP season ahead of both Brady and Brees in terms of TDs.

It’s just the longevity. Manning was dominant EVERY year for way too long to not be #2. But I looked at Brees numbers and you are right that Brees is very close. Since he came to the Saints, his production pace has actually been even faster than Manning, he just had 4 erratic years in SD first.

There weren't many good qbs during the peak of the manning/Brady era

 

Brees could’ve played in like three more Super Bowls if not for monumental last-minute defensive collapses in playoff games

 

I low-key high-key want the Browns to trade for both Donald and Mack.

 

Blaming Rodgers' coaches for him not having as much success some of the other best quarterbacks have had doesn't jive for me. The same Seahawks team that Brady put up numbers on destroyed Rodgers in the NFC championship game. Held the packers to 22 points despite Wilson throwing 4 ints. Rodgers threw for 178, 1td and 2 ints in that NFC championship game.

In the Divisional playoff game against the cardinals the next year the Packers only put up 20 and lost in OT. Rodgers played ok I guess. Threw for 261, 2tds, 1 int. Nothing all-time great. Not playing an all-time great defense. Packers defense picked off Palmer twice in the game.

Rodgers has had his chances, he will still have more. No need to make excuses for him.

 

Look at that graph I posted a while back. Brees has been screwed. Arguably the 4th best quarterback for a decade and I think like 11th in winning percentage.

 

If Marcus Williams doesn’t whiff on that tackle last year the Saints are champions don’t @ me

 

I'm not making excuses. If you think the Packers are a well managed team then I don't have anything for you lol
