Browns were gonna give up a 2nd and 3rd for him I believe....though thats the Browns.

Hes not gonna be Garropolo, but, if I was the Redskins, Id rather have my 3rd, my starting CB, and McCarron at like 60% of Smiths price, for example.

I think the team that rolls the dice on him in a 2-3yr deal is gonna have it pay off nicely

 

Thatd be a smart move. Allows them to pay Diggs, etc. Could even keep Bridgewater around as insurance while not wasting money on Keenum

 

Would rather have him in Denver too if the alternative is paying Cousins $30m+

I’m not high on McCarron. He couldn’t force his way into the starting lineup, and being better than Andy Dalton was the benchmark.

Feels like an easy pick to be the backup given starting QB money who makes their team instantly regret their decision

the Dolphins need a backup QB, but someone is going to pay him at least Mike Glennon money IMO and that certainly won't be Miami

I'd say its like 90% he ends up in Cleveland. They should also draft someone

I'd take Kizer for a mid rounder if they do that

Why does NFL do the tag as "OL" and not break it down between OT and OG? Tackles get paid more generally, right? It makes a tag on Norwell $14m. He won't get that much yearly from a team will he?

 

The highest paid guard gets under 12m per season. Why should a tag on a guard be 14m?

 

Yeah, he's not very good. He can do well when he's insulated by a good supporting cast like the Bengals had in 2015, but he's not going to win you a lot of games. Dalton's had two miserable season and there wasn't even a debate about McCarron taking his job. Defense kept the team in that playoff game and he "almost won" thanks to AJ Green catching a ridiculously overthrown pass for a touchdown. Probably just another Kolb/Flynn.

 

Bortles > McCarron

McCarron is the Anti Bortles. If we had a great QB coach, I trust McCarron more than Bortles. Philly wins the SB with McCarron, not Bottles.

I’m giving him this year. The improvement without ARob and mostly without Hurns is a big storyline from last year for me. He showed that when he has an O Line and doesn’t have to throw 68 times a game he can think through a gameplan.
