I just haven’t seen him do that shit since that Texans game. Been better about getting low and avoiding helmet contact.

If it was a regular thing Matt and I would also be very critical. But he had almost as many tackles as Smith this year and that’s a pretty good sample size to say his tackling has been cleaner.

 

I definitely understand that and believe it, and also can't bring myself to forgive it haha.

 

Keelan Cole is the real villain on that team. Dirtiest block I can remember was his block that tore Hooker’s ACL.

 

He's not even the villain of the rookie receivers you fucking nerd.

Like yeah tearing a player's ACL is bad but Myles Jack made us bring up a practice squad player because we literally did not have one healthy Tight End on our 53 man roster because of him

And there was no fine

 

I don't even know what we're talking about with Cole.

 

He did a dirty, off the ball chop block that tore Malik Hooker’s ACL that I was upset at the time didn’t lead to a suspension.

Now I’ve overblown it and it probably wasn’t as bad as I’m making it out to be, but also I’ll always root against him from here on out

 

If we are talking about solo incidents, we can find a reason to hate every rookie who ever comes into the league though. Bottom line is there isn’t good enough direction from coaches at lower levels of football about proper tackling and blocking.

Mostly when you talk about players just entering the league I’m a little more lenient because they’re adjusting to the speed of the game, which can certainly lead to some unintentionally sloppy, reactive tackles.

If it becomes a habit that’s one thing... but if a player made some tackling/blocking mistakes early and then made an effort to change that in future games... I think that’s pretty common.
